Hot Air Balloon Baby Shower Favor
I'm a sucker for vintage luggage, trunks, and airplanes. So when asked to take part in an Adventure themed virtual baby shower I jumped at the chance to create a Hot Air Balloon baby shower favor.

If you are joining me from The Frenzied Hostess, it's so nice to meet you! You can get to know a little more about me here. But if this is your first virtual baby shower let me explain….party bloggers are a tight knit group. We work together and support one another. When we found out that Sarina of Joy in the Commonplace, one of our own, is expecting her FIFTH baby, a shower was a must have. However, since we all live in different parts of the country, we got together and each designed a piece of a baby shower as if we were all actually hosting. Now that you know what you're in for….let's take a look:
Adventure Themed Nursery
Sarina is decorating the nursery with vintage travel items for her little explorer, like hot air balloons and airplanes. I couldn't refrain from purchasing this letter board on my last trip to Target when I saw these darling scripty words {similar} just perfect for the theme!
Oh baby! I also happen to own a few metal airplanes I picked up at Pottery Barn for my baby boy's aviation nursery. They are sadly no longer available but RH Baby and Child has blue model planes that are even cuter! The Oh Baby sign is from Target's Bullseye's Playground. Couldn't walk away without that one could I? Of course not!
Did I mention I also have a soft spot for trunks and luggage? I know, what DON'T I have a soft spot for!? But they sure come in handy as party decor. I love when my party supplies can play double duty as home decor! You can find a great selection of trunks on Houzz.
Hot Air Balloon Baby Shower Favors
Once we settled on hot air balloons, the toughest part was deciding which piece of the baby shower to plan. If you've been around here for very long you may have noticed that I LOVE party favors! {Art party favors, Movie Star Favors, Have a Ball party favors…you get the idea!} I love when they fit the theme but love them even more when they are something that can actually be used.
Thinking back to being pregnant I remember how much my feet hurt and it made me think a spa favor would be a welcome gift for the mommy-to-be as well as any guests. I gathered up some fun items at the dollar store and Target to put together a fun mani/pedi set for under $5 each. Get the most bang for your buck with this shower favor source list:
- Wet n Wild nail polish is only $1 and lasts just the same as the expensive kinds I've tried {Both about a day! I have three children. Nuff said.}
- Nail files in bulk: Target with a DIY color coordinated Emery Board Envelope {tutorial coming soon}
- Single application face mask: Target
- 4-piece manicure set: Dollar Tree
- Mini shower scrubbies: Dollar Tree
- Pedicure file: Dollar Tree {I love these things!}
- And throw in a pack of color coordinated gum…cause who doesn't like fresh breath?
Up Up and Away Thank You
I used my Cricut Explore Air to create a large hot air balloon to serve as the thank you sign, {you can pick up the svg file in Cricut's Design Space Library} then packaged all the spa favors into cute gold treat cups. The hot air balloon also makes for darling nursery decor so I used a glue stick on the letters to easily replace “thank you” with the baby's name, or simply remove them without damage to the balloon.
I finished accessorizing the favor table with a few poster board clouds and a darling mini globe. Then topped the favors with printable hot air balloon tags:
Congrats Sarina and welcome baby!
I hope you enjoyed these Hot Air Balloon Baby Shower favors and are ready to hop on over to the next piece of the virtual baby shower with Jordan's Easy Entertaining. There are so many fun ways to celebrate a travel themed baby shower, I'd love to hear which items you'd choose as your favorites!
Pin it for later!
