Baseball Themed Baby Shower
I threw the baby shower for my friend, Carrie, who was super excited to be having a BOY after having three girls. As soon as I found out she was having a boy I knew the shower would be baseball themed. I am a HUGE baseball fan and her husband is a big Yankees fan, AND the nursery was already decked out for baseball. {including a hotdog cart, actual stadium seats, and a dugout awning. This nursery is amazing!} What theme could be more perfect them?
Favorite Thing
My favorite piece of the party was the food display. I planned it down to the last detail and most everything turned out the way I wanted it to. I couldn't have done it without my Dad, though. I had it all designed in my head, but I needed his handyman skills to produce the the stadium riser, the stadium lights, the scoreboard, the pretzel holders, baseball field, and ABC block riser. What would I have done without him!? The ultimate highlight, though, was seeing Carrie's reaction as she walked into the backyard. I kept things pretty tight-lipped about the shower. She knew it was baseball-themed, but that was it. So it was really fun to surprise her!
In Carrie's words:
I should have known from the invitation that this would be unlike any baby shower I'd ever attended. When I first walked into the backyard and saw all the time, money, energy, and creativity Debra put in on my behalf, I started to cry! I was overcome with gratitude and couldn't believe anyone would do so much for me. I've thrown a party or two in my day and even the simplest events take hours of preparation and my checkbook. Debra thought through everything. The serving table with it stadium seats, the stadium lights, Yankee salad hats, not to mention each table decorated to the hilt with amazing centerpieces and darling details in the place settings. She even took the time to make a scoreboard! I could go on and on but the photos speak for themselves. She nailed it and made me feel like the most special person in the world!
Baseball Themed Menu
I tried to include classic baseball foods for the shower:
- Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders
- Mini Hot Dogs
- Soft Pretzels
- Salad served in Mini Yankees helmets
- French Fries
- Baseball Donuts
- Baseball Cake Pops
- Watermelon
The darling “Welcome Lil' Slugger” cake had s'more and Raspberry lemonade layers. The mommy-to-be's favorite!
For beverages we had more of mom's favorites:
- Diet Coke
- Raspberry Lemonade
Lessons Learned
It was so fun to put this shower together, although there were a few hiccups. Storm clouds started gathering within the hour of the shower starting. Luckily, I planned ahead and had an emergency tent ready to go. We rushed and got the tent over everything, so nothing and no one got soaked. Thankfully, it just drizzled a little here and there throughout the shower and we were still able to keep it outdoors. Our only casualty was the Cotton Candy that didn't quite survive the humidity!

Feature Summary
I love how much thought was put into the details of this Yankees Baseball Themed Baby Shower! Carrie is definitely a lucky lady to have such a wonderfully thoughtful friend. Debra was so prepared with the tent and set up that no one ever noticed the melted cotton candy! I was one of those lucky guests and can attest…it was a gorgeous event and everyone enjoyed the party. One of these days I'm going to have to share images from the baseball nursery. Carrie went ALL out! It's amazing. Thank you so much to Debra for sharing your talents with all of us. You are truly amazing!

Until next time,
Can you tell me the size of the crate that you used that has the peanuts and shirt on it?
This is late so it’s probably not helpful anymore – so sorry! But the crates were approximately 16″x 8″
Lol here’s a bold ask:
Any interest in selling the pieces you used for the food display? 😬 I’ve been searching high and low, but I can’t find anything as perfect!
I wish I could say I have them to sell. Messaged you with more info. Thank you so much for your interest!
Where did you find the mini coke bottles?
So sorry, they don’t appear to be available any longer. If I can find a suitable replacement I’ll link to it.
This is super adorable…I’m thinking of sending to my SIL because she is a huge Red Sox fan 😀
