Mommy to Bee Baby Shower
A Mommy to Bee baby shower is the perfect theme for any expecting mommas out there. For our Feature Friday I'm thrilled to be sharing a sweet little bee themed baby shower for my dear friend Hayley. As soon as I found out she was expecting I was excited to help with her shower. Turns out…she had it covered. I was able to attend this one as a guest and enjoy all her hard work and creativity.
As Sweet as Can Bee
Those who know me well realize I HATE being the center of any attention! When I got married all I wanted to do was run away and get married! A big reception sounded incredibly uncomfortable to me, so it came as a real surprise when I wanted a big girly baby shower! And even more when I said I wanted to plan it myself. I did not want to go overboard with the budget so I made almost everything myself. I had some ideas for the theme but “As Sweet As Can Bee” was chosen when I found out I was having a girl. With “Bee” as a potential nickname for our sweet girl it fits perfectly.
Invitation Designed by Mommy to Bee
I had so much fun designing the invitation to set the tone for the entire party.
Bee Decorations
We selected Noah’s Event Venue as our shower location and it was the most FANTASTIC setting with the large windows and gorgeous walnut wood floors. I tried to be practical and chose shower decor based on what I envisioned for her nursery. I knew I wanted a statement piece for the food table that could transfer to her nursery.
When I saw these wooden honeycombs on Pinterest I knew they would be the perfect statement piece for both the food table AND functional shelving in the nursery, so I had them made by a family friend. They turned out even better than I imagined as the perfect cupcake display. I topped them off with my little girl’s initials for the final detail.
Lighting
For the lighting we used lights that were covered in grapevines that reminded us of beehives and I just love how they tied the room together.
Bee Tablescape
We used two shades of table linens, buttercup and champagne and I loved the way they turned out!
For the centerpieces I wanted something simple with an outdoor feel so I chose babies breath accented with yellow billy ball flowers that we placed in glass mason jars and finished off with a twine bow. Teacups on each table filled with Bit of Honey candies were another fun treat for guests.
{Little table treats are a fantastic way to keep little ones occupied as well. I was lucky enough to have this dapper young gentleman as my date to the shower and he sure loved his Bit o Honey!}
Mommy to Bee Gift Table
I had a fun gift table with a banner above that said “Mommy to Bee” on honeycomb shaped paper and tissue paper poms on either end. The hanging poms were a fun touch to personalize the large space.
Bee Themed Food Table
Food was a big deal to me as I wanted everyone well fed! I decided to serve chicken salad sandwiches, a green salad with a honey citrus dressing, a melon salad that contained honeydew melon and watermelon that was cut in the shape of bees using a cookie cutter I found.
Sweet as Can Bee Dessert
For dessert we feasted on delicious vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting that I topped off with edible bee shaped candy and white chocolate honey comb that I made by pouring melted chocolate on bubble wrap and letting it dry and then peeling it off leaving me with a fun honeycomb design. {Love this simple DIY!}
I placed the food labels in wooden stumps next to each item to add a special touch to the table. I was really happy with how it all turned out.
Honey Bee Nectar
For the drinks we served “lemonade nectar” and water with orange slices.
Honey Bee Shower Favors
To thank everyone for coming I sent them home with small 1.5oz jars I found on Amazon in the shape of a honeycomb that I filled with honey and added a tag that said “Thanks for Bee-ing Here!” I loved these!
- I've re-created this favor tag for my favorite readers! It's available as a download in my printable library.
Mommy to Bee Sign in Table
It was really important to me to make sure I always remembered who attended my little girl’s baby shower so I had everyone sign the book “Are You My Mother?” This is my favorite part of the shower as now I read this book to my little girl and I am reminded of what a special day it was for me!
Baby Shower Games
Baby shower games are often a bit tough and I did not want anything to silly so I stuck with gift “BEE”ngo. I could not find a game template I liked so I made this one and had a lot of fun doing so!
Lucky for you Hayley is willing to share her Bee-ngo card with all of you. Simply print, trim, and punch corners. Thank you Hayley!!

Sweet as Can Bee Final Result
It was months of preparation but I had so much fun planning and executing this shower! It was such a wonderful way to usher a little lady into our family. I am beyond thrilled with how it all turned out and so grateful for all the help and love that I was shown on this very special day! In the end I think I was throwing it more for my daughter than I was for me. After all she is As Sweet As Can Bee!
