Harry Potter Teacher Gift – Seeker of Knowledge
Creating “Seekers” of knowledge is the goal of every teacher and these little Ferrero Rocher snitches are perfect. Simply remove the sticker from each chocolate hazelnut confection and replace it with a glue dot. Then fold your wings at the center, leaving a flat section 1/4″ wide to press into the glue dot.

Harry Potter Gift Ideas – Etched Glass Mug
It doesn't take much to create a custom etched glass mug. Start by choosing your favorite magic phrase. I have always loved “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.” And it's quite fitting for my children to give to their teachers!
Take a look at the simple supplies:
- Glass Stein – Dollar Tree
- Removable Black vinyl
- I solemnly swear that I am up to no good SVG file
- OR Harry Potter font SVG to design your own (like I did)
- Cricut Explore 3 – Smart cutting machine
- Glass steins
- Armour Etch glass etching cream
- Old paint brush
- Vinyl weeding tools

Layout your phrase in a size that fits your glass mug. Use a scrap piece of paper to wrap and measure your ideal size. Make sure to leave a good border of vinyl around the edges of phrase to protect the exposed glass.
Cut and weed your phrase as many times as you need. I created 6 mugs: 1 for each of my two Elementary School kids, plus their principal, and 3 for my Junior High child to choose her favorite three teachers.
Wipe down the glasses with vinegar to clean it and apply the vinyl on each one. Then go over the open letters again with rubbing alcohol to make sure it's completely free from finger oils {which will hinder the etching}.
Glass Etching Gift Idea
Generously apply the etching cream with a paint brush by dabbing it on and continuing to work it into the glass. If you leave it be the glass isn't always evenly etched. I prefer continuous movement of the etching cream around the letters for a smoother finish. It's not a deep etch and is hard to see in the photos, but is visible in person.
After the allotted time {plus extra for good measure} wipe the cream off. I rinsed the mug to remove all residue, but follow the instructions on your bottle of etching cream.
Then peel off your vinyl and reveal your secret message! A weeding tool is nice for this to help peel up the edges.
