Iconic Harry Potter Sweets for the Table
We'll start with the most iconic treats:
Bertie Botts every Flavour Beans. These are s MUST have because they work as a treat and an activity! Use the mystery flavors and have everyone try one. See who can try the most flavors without spitting them out!
And the chocolate frogs. You can purchase chocolate frogs in gorgeous boxes, or you can print your own like I did. I found an awesome printable box from The Quiet Grove that also has collectible cards you can add to each box. They take time to put together though so start early if you are making very many.
Harry Potter Less Common Sweets
Cockroach clusters are one of those creepy treats you're not sure you actually want to eat! This version is simply a candied pecan with a dollop of dark chocolate and let me tell you…..they are delicious! There are other recipes that get awfully complicated. This is SO simple and yummy but if you'd like to dive in I'd recommend this Cockroach Clusters recipe from Whip and Wander.
Lemon Sherbet is as simple as adding a bowl of lemon drops. I always think of Dumbledore when I see lemon drops, and this earned them a spot of our Harry Potter treat table as well. True lemon sherbet drops have a soft lemon center so if you CAN find them in the United States – bonus points for you!
Muggle Sweet Table Options
Butter toffee isn't a true Harry Potter sweet but it is VERY English so it earned a spot on our treats trolley. And it kind of reminds me of the sticky toffee pudding that IS an authentic Harry Potter dessert.
Candy wands are another fun addition. You can make it as simple (hello Red Vines) or complicated as you'd like.
Chocolate wands are easy to make with the proper mold, but since we already had the chocolate frogs I opted for another, much easier solution. Red Vines Made Simple as as easy as it gets! They're a more natural, less processed version, with a softer bite, slightly sweeter taste, and natural food coloring. I like them better than the original.
If you've got the time a pretzel rod dipped in caramel and chocolate is another great way to go. Just decorate those babies up with starry sprinkles and you've got a magical wand that's very tasty. Here's a tutorial for pretzel wands too.
Harry Potter Sweet Table Fun
If your guest list is large go for it and add the all fun Harry Potter themed treats. With a smaller guest list however, all you really need is a few highlights like Bertie Botts beans and chocolate frogs, then use these editable food labels to create whatever else you wish. Once you give it a proper name, anything can be on-theme!
I want to know if you try a Harry Potter sweet table and if you liked any of these suggestions. If so, I'd love to hear about it in the comments below. And if you share photos, I want to see it too!
