Green party supplies
Look no further for your St. Patrick's Day party! Pantone's Color of the Year “Greenery” makes a great guide for this list of fabulous green party supplies. These products would also be a great addition to a Princess and the Frog party, dinosaur party, reptile party, tropical party, or jungle party…just to name a few party themes with a green base color palette.
This Sparkling Shamrock drink is such a pretty festive green {above}. This particular recipe is for an adult beverage but here's a great idea for a children's polyjuice potion {below} that would be great for St. Patrick's Day AND a Harry Potter party! That's a double win! This post contains affiliate links. For more information please see my disclosure page.
Using paper fans in party decor continues to be hot. You can hang them, as shown here {above}, or attach to the wall {below} for a beautifully textured focal point. They create such a rich and elaborate visual without hours of labor.

These artificial limes are meant as vase fillers but can be utilized in many ways. You can use them in vases with flowers, in containers on their own for a bright pop of color, or string them to create a fun garland. Fresh limes work as well but the fresh fruit releases ethylene gas as it ripens and causes the petals to wilt much more quickly so be careful how you use them together!
Paper straws are just so dang fun and an easy inexpensive way to add more color to any party. I love the bright and cheery appearance of these green and white striped straws. They don't hold up well over long periods of time in a drink so be careful not to prep the drinks with straws ahead of time. No one wants a mushy straw!
Balloons will always be a favorite with children! Polka dot balloons rachet the joy up a notch. I'm not sure what it is, but my kiddos are crazy for polka dots! They really LOVE any and all balloons and my toddler will even play with an old balloon that's just a squishy little blob. In fact, I found a nearly deflated balloon in my fridge just a few days ago! Right next to the milk!
How festive is this California avocado cupcake with key-lime buttercream frosting!? I love how rich it looks and this recipe using California Avocados has me intrigued! It's one of those combinations like “black bean brownies” that makes you wonder but is actually really good!
Paper tassel garlands are another must have in green party supplies! These are so versatile and can be combined with the paper fans or stand alone. The air space over the party table is often underutilized. Balloons help fill this space but I love when I get a chance to hang something from the ceiling, across the mantel, or strung from the walls. It really helps the event feel more polished.
And speaking of polished…Butter of London creates a nailpolish each year for Pantone's assigned color. I think this would make a fantastic party favor for the ladies on St. Patrick's Day or guests for a Princess and the Frog party. There are lots of brands of nailpolish so this is a favor that will fit any party budget.
As you can see I love garlands of any kind. They add a dimension to the decor unlike anything else. You could layer these felt balls with a tassel garland or let them stand on their own. I love the simple look of a felt ball garland but I haven't yet mastered the knack of felting, luckily there are lots of other people who have! I also love yarn poms which give you a similar round look and are much easier {for me at least} to make.
This sweet green party dress is perfect for the birthday girl or guest of honor for a Princess and the Frog or St. Patrick's Day party. My daughter wore this dress in gold for a family wedding. She felt so beautiful. The sequins on top are lovely but I had to trim them up a bit around the arm hole so they didn't scratch her. The skirt is made of a solid satin layer and two layers of tulle.
Chevron was so hot for so long that it needed to take a backstage break. But this is a classic pattern that will never go out of style. Chevron wood inlay, also known as “herringbone” has been a classic for centuries. The saw tooth pattern can be upscale or down played depending on the material used to create it. I think these green and white chevron plates look just like crocodile or dinosaur teeth! They would be great addition to you green party supplies for any theme already mentioned.
Having color coordinated food is a great touch and I try to make each holiday special with this trick. For St. Patrick's day these guacamole chips have become a favorite. I'd recommend looking for them at your local grocery store as people have had problems with them being smashed during transit when ordering online. Since food is such an important part of celebratory culture I'll explore the color of food with more depth in the future.
I hope that this list of green party supplies has come in handy to give you the tools you need in planning your next “greenery” inspired party!
