Safari Baby Shower Invitation
Jennifer at BooBean Design created our virtual baby shower invitation and I just love the gold leather animal silhouettes! She carries a whole line of Wild One birthday, and baby shower designs in her shop and custom colored this set for our baby boy shower.
Glam Safari Party Decor
With the prospect of THREE little boys and one big boy in her life, the phrase “It's Getting WILD Around Here” seems appropriate! Love how the backdrop from BooBean Design sets the stage for the whole design. Then dress it up by adding tropical ferns and monstera leaves around the edges to erase the lines, making it feel more natural.
WILD about Giraffes
For a safari baby shower you'll want to shop your house {or your best friend, mom, or neighbor's} for anything jungle or tropical. I happen to have a slight obsession with giraffes and have collected a few, like this large wooden fellow, over the years. Say “Hello” to Eddie Montgomery everyone. He's our resident clown who dresses up for every holiday. Although he played it pretty cool as a star of this show.
Or how about this giraffe stool I carried on the plane with me from Jamaica? I watched a man carving them and was totally hooked. Although I'm pretty sure there's never been a Jamaican Giraffe! ?The point is….don't be afraid to use and repurpose what you ALREADY have. Grab that fern while you're at it and add that to the table as well.
The Golden Boy
Using the design of the backdrop as a guide I picked up several jungle animals from Dollar Tree and gave them a little makeover with my favorite Metallic Gold Spray Paint. They are perfect on the treat table, dining table, and around the room. GLAM has never been so easy or affordable!
Glitter and Gold
Continuing the glam, you'll want to utilize metallics, sequins, and gold foil. This scripty “baby” balloon makes a statement at the entrance table to welcome guests. Then add a simple leafy vine and viola, you've got a jungle theme.

- I love these sequin tablecloths from Amazon and use them all the time
Glam Safari Party Foods
There's an argument here that I'd like to settle. I think the decorations are the most important part of an event, but my husband is convinced it's the food. Where do you fall in the argument? {Let me know in the comments below} Don't get me wrong, I love good food. But I do not love making it. I think simple {but tasty} party food is best, as long as you make it look GOOD. Now, I think that might be something everyone can agree on!
What do you think?
Safari Baby Shower Cupcakes
Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Pick up some yummy store bought cupcakes {not all store bought is created equal so ask around for the best options in your area} then throw on a beautiful wrapper and simple topper. Now you've got a darling and delicious treat that isn't going to stress you out. If you're really looking for glamour, then display them on a gorgeous cupcake stand like this one from Amalfi Decor! {Is it any wonder it's my favorite stand?}
Healthy Nibbles
If you know me I'm always looking for ways to incorporate healthier options on our party tables. And most likely your Mama-to-be will thank you for a non-sugar option. These blueberries are delicious AND happen match the color scheme! That makes me and the guests happy. At least hippo certainly looks like he's enjoying them.
Gorilla Sticks
We dubbed these “gorilla sticks” while making them and I've had to recreate them for my kids several times since. There's something about putting food on a stick that makes it WAY more fun to eat. You can mix it up and try different fruits on a kabob or stick with a single color like these green grapes. Top them off with bananas, donut holes, or marshmallows for another little spot of sweet.
Jungle Safari Cake
And no jungle safari party is complete without cake! Line the display plate with leaves and greenery. Carefully place the cake, then we'll address the elephant in the room! And escort him to the top of our cake with a few fronds.
With our shiny friend in place, the cake is all ready to go with minimal fuss. I'm a HUGE fan of the simplicity and class of these naked cakes for nearly any occasion. Check your local grocery store bakery for affordable options.
- DIY Elephant topper:
- Metallic Gold Spray Paint
- Plastic toy elephant {Dollar Tree}
- OR Buy Elephant topper ready-made: Option 1, Option 2
DIY Safari Cupcake Toppers
The golden elephant is fun, but if you're looking for an edible glam safari topper this is the easiest way to get it! Gather up your favorite animal crackers, {I love this Great Value pack because of the fun detail on the animals} and a can of Wilton Color Mist.
- Wilton Color Mist, gold
- Animal Crackers
Spray
There aren't even any steps to this DIY! Just choose your jungle animal, blow off the crumbs, and spray like you would with spray paint. The color mist is a little strong at first so use in a ventilated area, like under the oven exhaust hood. Let dry and repeat. I'm not sure the effect was that different with the second coat but it made me feel better!
Easiest Cupcake Topper Ever!
After the cookies are dry, pop them onto your frosted cupcakes. It's a cute party topper that follows all my rules: inexpensive and simple to make, but also really cute.
Welcome Wild One Safari Favor
It's always nice to send guests home with a little thank you these are no exception. For a SUPER simple party favor, slide animal crackers into a pretzel stick bag and top with these darling favor tags from BooBean Design. Then, add a touch of greenery for that perfect finishing detail.
Glam Safari Baby Shower Table
Keep your table simple with repeating elements like the sequin tablecloth and striped runner. Gift wrap is my favorite option for table runners as it comes in just about any color and theme you could imagine. Then serve your guests on gold monstera leaf plates with dressed up milk bottles for color coordinating drinks.
- Gold tropical leaf plates
- Vintage 11oz Milk bottles
- BooBean Design Milk Bottle labels
- Monstera Leaf serving bowl
