Popcorn with Chocolate Drizzle Ideas for Safari Party
Popcorn with chocolate drizzle is such an easy and tasty treat! My FAVORITE food is popcorn and {unless you hate chocolate} I guarantee you'll love this too! I created this particular “cheetah-corn” for an “Into the WILD” themed New Years Safari party but it works equally well for a Safari Baby Shower, jungle birthday party, or any event where popcorn is served!

Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn
Choosing the type of popcorn is the most difficult task for this quick treat! My favorite is Angie's BoomChickaPop Sweet and Salty Kettle Corn. It's got less fat and calories than most kettle corn and makes an amazing party treat.
Kettle corn is my Achilles heel so I've decided it's worth keeping in my life, even if I know it'll give me a stomachache. Aren't we silly like that sometimes? But if you're stronger than I and cutting back on sugar, you can use air-popped corn tossed in a little coconut oil or butter.
- Popcorn: microwave, air-popped, or store bought {BoomChickaPop Kettle Corn}
- Dark chocolate melts {try Lily's dark chocolate chips for sugar free}
- White chocolate melts {try Lily's white chocolate chips for sugar free}
- Baking Sheets
- Disposable piping bags
- Microwave
Treat Cones
- Light Cardstock – 2 colors {cheetah option}
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- Party Cone File {Cricut Design Space Library}
- Double sided tape
- Optional treat cone display stand
Spread Popcorn and Melt Chocolate
After you've spread your popcorn out on a couple of baking sheets add 1/4 cup white chocolate chips with a few dark chocolate chips to a piping bag. Then place in the microwave and heat in 30 second bursts, kneading in between, until soft and melted.
Snip the end, twist the top of the bag and pipe light chocolate onto the popcorn in small sections. There's nothing overtly CHEETAH about the chocolate application. The most elaborate chocolate art gets destroyed when serving the popcorn, so make it easy and just drizzle.
Repeat with Dark Chocolate
Repeat the same steps with the dark chocolate making sure to use nice long strokes so most of the popcorn has a little bit of chocolate drizzle. The stripes also make this a great candidate for ZEBRA corn – if you want to keep the first drizzle pure white.
Popcorn Treat Cones for Serving
When you've got a special snack it's even more fun to serve it up in a special container. These party cones are available in the Cricut Design Space Library. Just choose coordinating paper colors and start cutting!
I selected black and cheetah patterned paper for our cones. Be careful not to use heavy cardstock as they are hard to roll and keep the cone shape. Roll it a little tighter than the pattern calls for so the second overlay will fit around.
Use double sided tape or other strong adhesive to keep them shut.
Add Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn and Enjoy!
You can add additional decor like these gold starbursts customized for your event, or add a ribbon and tie on a tag. Either way they look great, are easy to serve this delicious chocolate drizzled popcorn, and makes the popcorn easy to eat with safe and sanitary individual portions.
Where will you serve yours? If you make some cheetah-corn, I'd love to hear about it in the comments below. And if you share photos, I want to see it too! Please tag us @partieswithacause on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. We love celebrating all your hard work!
