How To Decorate Macarons With Gold Dust
Ever wondered how to decorate macarons with gold dust? It's so fun and easy! Plus your macarons will look like you spent a fortune on custom cookies. They were the PERFECT thing for this “Love in Bloom” bridal shower I hosted.
Instead of brushing on the gold luster dust, I prefer to use a gold edible cake paint. It's easy enough for a beginner which is why I love it so much!

Where To Find Affordable Macarons
Wondering where to find affordable macarons? French macarons are notoriously difficult to make, so if you don't have time to make a few dozen for your next party, head on over to a few of my favorite places and check out their selection:
- Trader Joe's: TJ's carries the most affordable, yet still tasty options I have found thus far. I used a mix of their variety pack and the chocolate and vanilla.
- Costco: At times you can find boxes of macarons in the freezer section.
- Grocery store bakeries will often sell them, but they are still more expensive than purchasing by the box.
How to Decorate Macarons with Gold
After you've gathered your macarons, make them look like a million bucks by embellishing them with this simple food hack.
Simple supplies
- Macarons
- Gold Edible Food Paint – Champagne Gold Edibleart Cake Paint
- White and Gold Sprinkle Mix
- Food grade paint brush, or brand new paint brush that's been cleaned WELL
Brush Macarons With Gold Dust Paint
How to decorate macarons with gold dust? Simply swipe it on!
Using your medium sized paint brush dip it into the gold food paint and give each cookie a nice swipe across the top. Be careful not to go all the way across. Leave a little cookie space on the end.
Then while the paint is still wet, add your gold and white sprinkles to one end of the golden strip.
Let dry completely and that's it! Seriously, you're ready to serve. Can you believe how easy that was!?
Serve Your Fancy Macarons
Now that your macarons are super fancy it's time to serve them up. These make the perfect party treat for a bridal shower, like this “Love in Bloom” shower. But they're equally perfect for a girls night, baby shower, wedding reception, or any time you need an impressive dessert buffet!
Now you'll never need to wonder how to decorate macarons with gold dust paint ever again!
