How to Dress Up Store Bought Brownie Bites for a Celebration

Ever wondered how to dress up store bought brownie bites? It's so easy to serve them up right out of the plastic tub. But what if there was an easy way to make them just a little more fancy for a bridal shower, girls night, or baby shower?

Spoiler alert! There is…

Semi-Homemade Means Dressed Up

If you've never heard the term “semi-homemade” then you're in for a treat! It's the ability to dress up store bought items and make them fabulous for your events.

Homemade often tastes better but there's not always time {like NEVER} to get everything made. And your recipes aren't guaranteed to work out under pressure.

So my best party food hack is to create a list of beautiful semi-homemade items you can whip up in a flash for an impressive party buffet. And here's one to add to your list:

Dressed Up Brownie Bite Ingredients

You don't need a lot to make these babies look great:

  • Store bought brownie bites {or homemade if you have time}
  • Buttercream or Cream Cheese frosting {store bought or homemade}
  • Fresh raspberries
  • Large gold sprinkles

Best Store Bought Brownie Bites

If you're wondering which store bought brownies are worth the purchase I'll give you a run down on the ones we like best:

  • Trader Joe's Brownie Bites
  • Flax 4 Life Chocolate Flax Muffins – which are actually just a healthier version of brownie bites that I adore! Find them at Whole Foods and Sprouts. Healthy brownie bite. Gluten free brownie bite. Dairy free brownie bite. Yes. Please.
  • Costco Brownie Bites are the party standard and pretty darn good.
  • Smith's Bakery Brownie Bites are great for a grocery store bakery.

Brownie bites with a star of buttercream frosting

To top your brownie bites you don't need anything fancy. A dollop of spray whipped cream will work for an EXTRA fast upgrade.

But I decided on adding a little buttercream frosting using piping bag and a star tip. No tip? No problem. Just add your frosting to a ziploc bag, snip the corner and add a nickel sized dot of frosting.

Without the tip it won't have the textured edges but that's not a deal breaker.

Raspberry Brownie Bites

There are very few things that go together as well as chocolate and raspberries! {In my opinion} So adding a fresh raspberry to the top of each brownie bite is a match made in heaven.

Once your frosting dots are done simply press a fresh raspberry into the center. Make sure to use enough frosting that you get a little ring of frosting around the bottom when pressed. You'll want that for the final step.

Now that you've got lovely brownie bites with raspberries and buttercream, the crowning touch is a piece of gold nonpareil – or sprinkle. I picked the largest sprinkles out of a gold and white mix and they looked beautiful on the brownie bites.

You could also use smaller sprinkles or lustre dust on the berries for an even fancier finish.

This is not something you'll do nightly but PIN IT now and save it for your next girls night, bridal shower, baby shower, or tea party. Any time you want your presentation just a little extra you can count on these simple steps.

Will you try embellishing brownie bites too? I'd love to hear about your story in the comments below. And if you share photos, I want to see it! Please tag us @partieswithacause on Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram. We love celebrating all your hard work!
