Trend Spotting: Royal Blue and Raspberry

Royal blue hit the wedding scene hard a few years ago but faded in popularity. It's back in a big way with a lovely new partner, a raspberry shade of fuchsia. A few weeks ago, I discovered a set of cobalt and fuchsia velvet pumpkins which inspired the color palette for a Farmer's Market Harvest Brunch. This party palette of royal blue and raspberry is stunning and ready to take off.

Greenery Inspired Parties | Halfpint Design

Pantone rolls out predicted Fall Fashion color palettes in March, Spring Fashion color palettes in September, ultimately crowning a “color of the year” each December. The color of the year for 2017 is Greenery; a lovely fresh hue of bright green, like a blade of new grass. {Check out our Greenery party palette inspiration and Green Party Supplies} Given the title of this article, its not shocking that Royal blue and raspberry figure prominently in the color palettes for 2018.

Fashion First

Jewel tones are perfect for Fall but this versatile color pair moves into Spring and Summer with ease. No wonder it's starting to show up everywhere! If you are interested in color trends you might already know we have colors forecasted years in advance by organizations like the Color Marketing Group and Pantone.

We see colors first hit the fashion runway, like this outfit from Casely Hayford, spotted by Mood Fabrics in their 2018 trend report. Colors then trickle down to home decor, ready-to-wear fashion, and finally weddings and events. Check out some of the party fashion already in season.

And how about this rug looking stunningly gorgeous in Royal blue and raspberry!? Rug is also by Caitlin Wilson. {See I told you!}

And if the cobalt feels too bright for you, the raspberry still looks stunning with a more subdued navy. I like putting them all together with gold, or rose gold for a classic feel.
