Proud Liebster Award Nominee

Can I share something exciting!? I am a proud Liebster Award nominee! Don’t know what that is? That’s ok. Neither did I! The Liebster is an award for online influencers given by their peers reserved for newer bloggers to highlight their hard work and introduce them to other influencers. I don't know about you, but a peer driven nomination is so much more meaningful to me. I have met such an incredibly talented, hard working group of ladies so far in this journey. I am finding my tribe and starting to feel a little more at home in this new “blogger” skin. It’s been quite a ride and I’m happy to say that I’m LOVING it.

Nomination

One of those ladies is Victoria from One Sharp Mama, who nominated me for the Liebster Award. She is wonderful to work with. Such a great inspiration and cheerleader! And if you have struggled with infertility, motherhood, or organization, she's definitely one to follow! Since I am pretty new to the Blogosphere I have so many new people to meet. If this is our first introduction, “Hello!” and you can learn more about me below.

In order to accept this “Award”, nominees have to answer the following:

1. On your blog, thank the blogger who nominated you for this award.
2. Link back to the blogger that awarded you.
3. Upload the award to your blog.  This can be done by writing a post about the award and uploading the award image in your sidebar.
4. Answer the questions you have been asked by your nominator in a blog post so we can get to know you better.
5. Nominate at least 5 blogs that you believe deserve to receive this award.
6. Notify the owners of the blogs that you’ve nominated them so they can accept their award.  Bloggers can be nominated more than once, giving their readers more chances to learn more about them.

Victoria asked me to answer these questions:

1. What was the reason you started a blog?

My family is hoping to take a traveling sabbatical in a few years so I decided to create an online business I can take with me anywhere in the world. I knew it would take some time to grow and thought I'd better start now! {Launched Feb 2017}

2. How did you choose your niche?

I tried writing about commercial interior design {that’s my “other” job} but I wasn’t passionate about it. I am, and always have been passionate about planning events, and now that I’m a mother of three, children’s parties have become my absolute happy place.

3. What is your best piece of advice for a new blogger?

People told me not to compare myself to anyone else and that has been a blessing. I set goals for ME and my blog and when I reach them I celebrate. Halfpint Design is small, but it is growing, perhaps more slowly than I’d like, but I am reaching my goals and trying to maintain balance in the rest of my life. Make sure you enjoy all your accomplishments because much of this online world is set up for comparisons, which we know are the thief of joy. That’s why I love this award because it allows us to highlight really hardworking influencers who may not be getting the online love they deserve quite yet!

4. What is your all-time favorite movie?

There are so many great movies out there but I always seem to go back to The Saint with Elizabeth Shue and Val Kilmer or How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days!

5. If money were not a concern, where would you go for your dream vacation?

I was blessed to go on my dream vacation with my sweet husband for our 10-year anniversary to the islands of Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora. It was incredible and Moorea was the most beautiful place I could imagine. My new dream is exploring Thailand, Bali, Australia and New Zealand!
