Red White and BBQ Party
I'm so excited to finally host this Red White and BBQ party! I won an incredible party package from a group of talented party supply ladies! It was intended as a Labor Day BBQ, but pushed back to a mid-September Brat party! The only hiccough we encountered was bad weather. I had to quickly switch gears day of, as the venue changed from my backyard to the church gymnasium around the corner. Ultimately it turned out wonderfully and our annual neighborhood Brat Party was very well attended!

Brat Party BBQ Invitations
The invitations set the stage for a super fun night! Joni, from Silver Pumpkin Designs, custom designed invitations and included perfect red envelopes to send our invites out in style! She was great to work with and her customer service was amazing!
Welcome to the Party!
A welcome sign is nice for the party entry, especially if you've switched venues. Guests know for sure they're in the right place! We dressed our sign with a mini pennant banner my 7 year old daughter made! She was pretty proud and so am I. Thrilled at the prospect of a resident event assistant in the future!
Red White and BBQ
Ignoring the bland gymnasium space I focused my creative energy on a buffet table focal point! I picked up the wood shutters a month ago from an upcycle shop “in case” I could use them as a backdrop someday. Lucky for me they highlight this Red White and BBQ party banner from Little Bear Design Shop perfectly!
The fabric tassel garland, from EIEIO Designs was a wonderful addition to the front of the table. Just safety pin the twine to your table cloth from underneath and you've got a beautiful accessory. Intended as highchair birthday banners, three of them were ideal garlands for our two banquet tables. Just message Amy and she'll help you with whatever first birthday theme you've got cookin'. She's seriously the best!
It's not a party without cute plates and napkins! I picked this “Grill Master” set and the wooden cutlery on Amazon, and the Grill Master sign at a resale shop months ago. What are the odds the sign and plates would coordinate!? The party gods smiled on me for that one! But maybe the sign should read “Grill Mistress”? Is that a thing? Maybe not, but there's definitely a queen…
Queen for a day
Okay, so maybe grilling isn't my strongest suit but it sure was fun to wear this darling apron, from Saturday Threads, and help out on the BBQ!
Brat Party BBQ Menu
The third annual Brat Party is quickly becoming tradition in the neighborhood. While brats are not my favorite, everyone else seems to love them!
- Bratwurst with sauerkraut, J Dawgs sauce, and curry ketchup. These condiments are a critical addition to the menu…so I am told.
- Hotdogs for the kiddos
- Baked beans in a dutch oven
- Potato chips
- Potato salad
- Watermelon
You cannot have a BBQ without watermelon!
How sweet it is!
We got spoiled with our sweet treat options. Red white and blueberry trifle cups seemed necessary for a Red White and BBQ party! With angel food cake and berries, they are light, easy, and delicious! But would not have been complete without the darling watermelon toppers from ReNest Studio.
What's a BBQ without a pie table? And what's more American than apple pie? Hmmm, maybe pumpkin? Sure seems to be an American favorite come fall when pumpkin spice takes over everything! Not that I'm complaining. I'm a huge fan of pumpkin pie. {and muffins, and cookies, and bread, and soup…you get the picture!} If you are interested in this cute little “American as apple pie” graphic you can pick it up by clicking the button below.

The crowning achievement of the buffet table goes to these incredible custom made sugar cookies by Jeisy Events & Creations. Can you believe the detail on those grill cookies!? They were delicious and the talk of the evening! This is one talented lady who also happens to be super down to earth!
Beverage Table
Since the casual gathering was large we kept beverages simple with 2 liters of A&W root beer, BUT dressed it up with cute gingham cups and these amazing piggie striped party straws from Noteworthy Paper Place! I love the contrast of red and white checks with black and white stripes. So fun and BBQ festive!
The final beverage was purely selfish. As a non-soda drinker I brought San Pelligrino for myself and kept them cool in these amazing can koozies by Handmade by Oat. She was so sweet to create a custom design just for me that I could use for this Brat Party and again for my Dad's birthday; the rib smoker extraordinaire! I LOVE how they turned out! We went through a couple of revisions and she found just the right thing for me. {My hubs is still laughing at me for putting San Pell in a koozie at a BBQ! What can I say? I like to be fancy!}
Table decor
Hmmm….can you call it table decor when there was hardly anything on the tables!? This BBQ party was about friends and families so I kept the tables really simple by layering red plastic table covers with kraft paper and red gingham runners. Large steins filled with pretzel bites dotted the tables, finished with a sprinkle of color coordinated candy. I'm calling it modern simplicity! Ha ha. Could I have done something amazing? Of course, but it wasn't required to have a great evening.
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Especially this darling little fellow, our youngest attendee at 7 1/2 weeks old! I just had to get a shot of him in this red gingham bandana bib by Seacliffe Cottage Designs. I mean, look at that face! And all the hair!? I love these bibs. I wish they were a thing for my first two kids. The snaps are strong enough that littles can't pull them off and they hug the neck just right to stop dribbles down the chin. I also love the soft fabric liner for tender little baby skin. They are perfect for a first birthday party cake smash with options for just about any theme!
A Big THANK YOU
We all had so much fun at this party. It was great to sit and chat with neighbors with our children running around like crazy! A huge thanks to the vendors who provided such great products for this Red White and BBQ party! I'm happy to be the lucky winner and share it with all of you!
