Valentines Party Food: Made into Hearts
This rates higher on the labor scale as you actually need to form, mold, or mosaic your food into the iconic Valentine shape of a heart. None of them are actually difficult however so start making your list of foods you can tackle today!
Breakfast: Heart Cinnamon rolls
Cinnamon rolls fashioned into a heart shape take a little bit of effort but are so cute and tasty! You could also cheat and snip ready made rolls with kitchen shears to create the suggestion of a heart.
Breakfast: Heart Bacon
These work well as long as you don't overcook your bacon!
Breakfast: Heart shaped pancakes or waffles
Waffles are actually super easy but you need to buy a heart shaped waffle maker, if you aren't interested in another appliance, make pancakes with batter in a squeeze bottle to create any shape you'd like.
Dinner: Family Tradition
For Valentine's Day dinner you can start a family tradition that has nothing to do with hearts or red food. My family does a Crazy Spaghetti dinner each year to celebrate Valentine's Day. You can read all about how we make it fun here: Crazy Spaghetti Dinner with Kitchen Utensils
Dinner: Heart Shaped Pizza

It may not be the most romantic of Valentine dinner ideas but it has become a family favorite. You can make it from scratch or order one from Papa Murphy's like I did.
Valentine Party Food Cut Out in Hearts
Heart shaped fruit on toast
Avocado toast is all the rage. Why not Nutella and strawberry toast? Or banana and almond butter toast? What a simple valentine snack idea.
Heart Shaped Caprese
Slice your grape tomatoes to become simple hearts with mini mozzarella balls on a pick.
OR Cut out Heart shaped mozzerella using a cookie cutter for a layered caprese appetizer. Put together a simple caprese tonight with sliced tomatoes, mozzarella, and fresh basil drizzled with olive oil & balsamic. It's amazing and looks gorgeous fanned out on a platter.
Heart Watermelon
Keep those heart shaped cookie cutters going on a watermelon fruit salad. It looks amazing and is always delicious. The white balls here are lychees, which are similar in consistency and taste to peeled grapes.
Heart Strawberries
My friend Sarina has a yummy pink smoothie recipe that she serves as a Valentine's Day Food idea. And you've definitely got to garnish the glass with a heart shaped strawberry! It's easy since strawberries are almost heart shaped anyway!
Red Food for Valentine Party
If in doubt, a color coordinated party table is sure to be a hit.
Red Velvet Crepes
These crepes take delicious to a whole new level!
Raspberry Macarons

These brilliantly colors cookies from Confessions of a Mommyholic are sure to brighten anyone's day.
Penne Pasta in Beet Sauce
Beets make everything a lovely shade of red. Cook some with your pasta, or add it to your sauce for a strikingly colorful meal.
Serve Red Produce

Red Fresh Fruit:
- Strawberries & Raspberries
- Cherries
- Currents
- Apples
- Grapes
- Pomegranates
- Watermelon
Use these fruits to create a Heart Shaped fruit platter like this one.
Red Veggies:
- Red Cabbage
- Beets
- Red Potatoes
- Tomatoes {Ok so it's a fruit but think tomato sauce, soup, sliced, diced, baked, and bite-sized}
- Red Onion
- Red Peppers
Add a Valentine's Party Food Topper
Heart shaped straws
Make your Valentine drinks more fun with heart shaped straws! You can find simple heart shaped straws like these in photo, or you can try heart shaped crazy straws. Crazy straws are fun to decorate with but a little tricky to actually use, and impossible to clean, so purchase them knowing they are likely a one time use item.
Donut Holes with Gold Hearts

Heart shaped toppers are so easy it'll almost feel like cheating! Turn anything into a holiday worthy meal by adding simple picks. Mint Event Design gets extra points for the heart marshmallows, pink glass, and love themed plate for her “Let Love Twinkle” Valentine party! Grab similar picks from Amazon, or cut your own at home with a Cricut Explore Air 2.
Cupcake Topped with Hearts

Lori from Giggle Living put together a darling Valentine picnic with these perfectly decorated cupcakes. Heart sprinkles are so incredibly easy but you get double points for adding them to red velvet cupcakes! This is such perfect Valentines Party Food! The great news is that you can pick up pre-made red velvet cupcakes in most grocery stores this time of year.
Paper Conversation Hearts
Is there any food you can't stick a conversation heart topper onto? Nope. There's not. You can figure out a way to adorn just about every food item. Float a pick in croutons on your soup, or cut a slit and slide a heart onto the rim of your glass. It's such an easy way to be festive. You can download these freebie Conversation hearts from my friend at Joy in the Commonplace.
