Harry Potter Death Eater Soda Bar – Halloween Party Drinks
A Harry Potter Death Eater Soda Bar was a no brainer when it came to planning the perfect wizarding Halloween party. The Hogwarts Halloween Feasts have always been a favorite so we set out to recreate it and add a few twists of our own.
This Voldemort inspired soda bar was one of them.

Find Your Halloween Inspiration
When it comes to inspiration, this skull and snake plate plate reminded me of Voldemort's dark mark…..and an idea was born. I mean, how could it not? It's just too perfect.

Harry Potter Halloween Stir Sticks
These stir sticks are too fun! And I hope they don't “stir” up your dark mark tattoo in public….that would be awkward for a Death Eater incognito.
Simply purchase the Dark Mark stir sticks listing in the SHOP, cut, and tape or glue to 6 inch Bamboo skewers.
Harry Potter Death Eater Trivia
Q: Book 4 – Goblet of Fire marks the official return of Voldemort. Can you name all the Death Eaters who show up in the cemetery after the Tri-Wizard Tournament?
A: Lucius Malfoy, Crabbe, Avery, Walden Macnair, and several others join him in the graveyard.
Q: But one Death Eater was suspiciously absent. Who was he?
A: Severus Snape
It took me a little research to find the spell Voldemort uses to cast the dark mark in the sky in that creepy green glow. So be careful how you use this:
Morsmordre
– Voldemort
Print up a Dark Lord Bottle Label on label paper and wrap your green syrup in the evil spell. Then, sit back and see how many of guests will recognize it. My guess is not many. And if you'd like to continue on with the Harry Potter trivia as a party activity you can ask Alexa, if you have one, or use this trivia page for beginners, intermediate, and advanced Potterheads!
Death Eater Soda Bar
There are 4 ingredients to a Death Eater Soda:
- Ice
- Sparkling water
- Flavored syrup
- Whipping cream or ice cream if you're doing a dessert bar
I chose dry ice for the spooky graveyard, middle of the night, dark mark in the sky kind of vibe.
Harry Potter Sparkling Water
First, we'll start with a chunk of dry ice and top with chilled sparkling water. Then enjoy the dry ice smoke for a bit.
**WARNING** Do NOT handle dry ice without gloves. You also do not want to transport it in a vehicle without cracking your windows. You can actually get sick from carbon monoxide if left in a sealed car for too long. Crazy right!?
Also – if you aren't using your dry ice immediately, store it tightly wrapped and in a cooler. Don't put it in your freezer. It will start to evaporate. I purchased a large chunk the day before and by lunchtime the next day half of it had evaporated in my freezer.
Dark Mark Green and Black Syrup
Next, you'll want to add a measure 2oz of syrup per 16oz glass. I used Green Apple Torani.
For “black” syrups you can try Blackberry Torani.
Or the Elderberry juice {so chosen for the Elderberry wand} but it's quite tart and I recommend mixing with Sprite or Black Sugar Torani syrup.
Death Eater Soda Bar and Cream
To finish it off you'll add the splash of whipping cream, approximately 1Tb.
Or top with whipped cream and a cherry.
Or vanilla ice cream.
You'll notice the large bubbles on the skull above. The dairy definitely creates big bubbles in this drink if your dry ice is going strong. So you'll either want to wait until the dry ice subsides a bit, or use a straw to immediately drink it down…..or your bubbles WILL overflow your glass!
Remember blowing bubbles in your milk in elementary school? It's kinda like that. 😂
**WARNING** Okay, since we've using dry ice, we've got another warning. Do not hand out drinks with dry ice still floating without a straw and a warning. If your lips touch that dry ice in the glass, even a small piece, you WILL get frostbite. And that, my friends, is a definite party foul.
Harry Potter Death Eater Soda Bar
I hope you loved this Harry Potter Death Eater soda bar as much as I do. It's such a fun addition to a Harry Potter birthday, or Wizard themed Halloween party. And you can add as many themed flavors as you'd like. I stuck with green for the mark in the sky and the black Elderberry juice for the dark mark tattoo on the skin.
