Halloween Flowers and Frankenstein Decoration Ideas
Halloween flowers are such a fun way to add to the spooky decor for your dinner party, Bridal shower, Baby shower, or any Halloween celebration! These Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein arrangements are a great detail for any Monster Mash but I created these for our “We've Created a Monster” Baby Shower.
It's Day 4 of our 13 Days of Halloween. Every year I try to come up with fun ideas that surround a general theme. This year we're doing Frankenstein and sharing all things Mad Science and spooky greens. If you missed yesterday's post it's here: Day 3 – Frankenstein Fingers Halloween Breadsticks. Keep reading to see how easy these are to put together….

Halloween Centerpiece Supplies
The best part about this project is that most of the supplies you need can be up-cycled from things you may already have!
- (4) 28oz tin cans
- (1) 46oz tin can
- Flat White and Black spray paint
- Awl & metal drill bit the size of your bolts
- Total (6) sets of nuts and bolts that fit together in larger sizes
- (4) bunches GREEN kermit mums
- (2) bunches WHITE stock
- Black card stock for stitches picks
- Black Vinyl for stitches stickers
- Toothpicks
- Tape
- Scissors
- Cricut Maker electronic cutting machine {optional but helpful}
- Download the PNG patterns from our Party Printables Resource Library to print and cut on your own with scissors or use on your own Cricut machine
Prep Cans for Halloween Flowers
Once you've collected the proper number and sizes of tin cans, wash them and remove the labels, taking care to scrape any glue residue off completely.
Let them dry overnight and they're ready for paint!
I sprayed one side, let them dry and then sprayed the other, making sure to overlap the edges for a smooth finish. Let dry again overnight.
FRANKENSTEIN BLACK CANS
Once the paint it dry use your awl to mark the spot for the bolt holes and the metal drill bit to create holes large enough for your selected bolts but not too large……or the bolts will sag a bit. It's a tricky balance but it'd err on the side of being slightly snug and just use a mallet to pound it through.
BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN WHITE CANS
The white cans are easy since they just get a couple of stitch stickers. You can cut your own out of vinyl or paper with this printable pattern if you don't have an electronic cutting machine. {But really….why don't you? 😉 Christmas is coming and it's a great tool for SO many things!}
Halloween Flower Arranging
I've got a video that takes you through the whole flower arranging process. It's long – so you can plan on arranging flowers with me! But i've got lots of good floral tips throughout.
But, if you're not in the mood to watch the video I'll give you a few pointers here. Before you start doing anything – place a glass cup or vase inside the can or the holes you drilled for the bolts will make all the water leak out. {Duh! I learned this the hard way!}
The green arrangement is our “Frankenstein”. His top is meant to be quite flat and mimic his iconic head. So arrange your flowers to nice and full on the sides and use single blooms to fill in the spaces on top. And make sure to finish it off with the cut paper stitches in the front. Use the Monster Pattern available in our Party Printables Library to cut your own Large Stitches.
Bride of Frankenstein Flowers
For the white cans you are creating a “beehive” hairdo look with the white stock. This is a fun interpretation of the monster theme while staying simple and classy. You can stick with the white flowers only if you're doing the “We've Created a Monster” baby shower, or make both to represent the couple.
You'll want to use the natural curve of the stems to your advantage and create an arch to the back of each vase. Then fill in around to shape the beehive. Once complete, add the “lightning bolt” pieces to each side for the final touch. Use the Monster Pattern available in our Party Printables Library to cut your own lightning bolts for the hair and attach to a toothpick with tape.
The pair also work really well for a “So in Love, it's SCARY” Bridal Shower.
Halloween Flower Arrangements
Now that they're all done we're ready for a Halloween party! How are you going to use these Halloween flower arrangements?
- A “Monster Love” Bridal Shower {A love so big, it's scary}
- “We've Created a Monster” Baby Shower
- or a “Monster Mash” Halloween Party
Use your Halloween flowers to accent your dining table, food table, entrance, or anywhere you want a focal point.
