Halloween Breakfast Ideas that are Cute and Easy
Halloween breakfast ideas can be labor intensive and amazing……OR they can be cute and easy! You can guess which one I'm a fan of. Mornings are typically a little hectic and I don't have much time to come up with a fun holiday breakfast when Halloween falls on a school day. Sooooo I found some easy ways to make regular foods a lot more fun and festive without much extra work.
It's Day 11 of our 13 Days of Halloween. Every year I try to come up with fun ideas that surround a general theme. This year we're doing Frankenstein and sharing all things bubbly Mad Science and green. And with a few sprinkles you can create some very mad waffles indeed! If you missed the last post it's here: Day 10 – Halloween Costume for Couples – Frankenstein and Bride

Halloween Breakfast Tools
You don't need much for this fun Halloween breakfast idea….just gather up a few of your favorite Halloween themed waffle makers and your favorite cinnamon roll dough.
Confession…..I have a mini waffle maker problem. I started buying them for every holiday at Target, then added to my collection via Amazon orders. They are SO EXTRA but I love them all and it makes breakfast SO MUCH more fun!
- Cinnamon Roll Dough {store bought or homemade}
- Mini Skull Waffle Maker
- Mini Pumpkin Waffle Maker
Other options:
Homemade cinnamon rolls are delicious, but this Pillsbury dough makes it SO EASY. Each roll is just the right size for a mini waffle. So count how many you think you'll need {my kids each eat 2 plus fruit and yogurt} and purchase the number of dough tubes you'll need.
Halloween Breakfast Ideas – Waffles
Warm up your Halloween breakfast waffle makers, spray REALLY well, and add your dough. Having 2 makers going at the same time is helpful when you have multiple people hungry at the same time.
Keep an eye on the waffle maker lights and pull out as soon as they turn on again. Use a fork to gently pull them away from the griddle. Your design will be on the bottom of each waffle. {For the Dash waffle makers at least}
Halloween Breakfast Serving Ideas
Once your waffles are cooked and ready, add a little of the icing to the top while still warm. Or you can add butter and jam, or straight up cream cheese, which is my favorite way to eat them!
Serve your waffles with fruit and a side of yogurt for a complete and delicious Halloween Breakfast! If you want to cut down on the sugar content, replace the flavored yogurt with cottage cheese or plain greek yogurt.
Bonus points if you try a spooky fruit like figs, passion fruit, rambutans, dragon fruit, or blood oranges!
Halloween Breakfast Eggs
And in case you're more of a bacon and eggs person….here's another fun Halloween idea for you. With a fun silicone skull mold you can create this spooky breakfast plate reminiscent of a pirate flag!
Get the Breakfast:
- Silicone skull egg mold – set of 3 so you can have 2 going at the same time
- 2 eggs
- 4 sausage links or 2 strips bacon, cooked
The mold isn't as easy to work with as it should be.
Here are a few Pro tips:
- Make sure you use a large enough pan that the mold is completely flat in the center. Many pans curve at the edge and will ruin your skull shape.
- Spray the mold and the pan WELL before adding the eggs or they will stick and you will lose those cool yolky eyes.
- The egg white over and around the “eye” yolks will stay soft so if you don't like sunnyside up, add a lid to the pan and steam it for a little bit to help cook that top layer without cooking the yolks.
- If you want a hard yolk, microwave it for about 15 seconds.
- Be careful removing the mold so you don't tear the egg
- Serve immediately with sausage links or bacon
