Halloween Apothecary Poison Apples by Fun to Eat Fruit
Halloween poison apples make the best decor on a spooky apothecary stand! My apothecary collection has grown over the years and this year I decided to make some look a little more spooky. It made the perfect backdrop for these poison apples by Fun to Eat Fruit.

Fun to Eat Fruit
Our latest Small Business Doing Good comes to you via my friends at Fun to Eat Fruit! Their mission is making healthy treat options fun for everyone. A mission I share. I've had a great time surprising guests with imprinted fruit, like these apple favors for our Harvest Party Girls Night.
For more ideas on how to make healthy food fun for kids read HERE.
Ordering Fun to Eat Fruit is so easy. Any firm skinned fruit can be imprinted in a special process with edible ink. Choose black or white ink and give them some direction on your party theme for a custom image. They can even do monograms and company logos!
The apples come shipped in this special packaging to ensure freshness, keeping each piece of fruit safe until you're ready to eat it!
Halloween Apothecary Stand
For years I've been building up my collection of creepy apothecary bottles making the perfect backdrop for our Halloween Poison apples on an old black candelabra. More on how to accessorize and age your bottles coming soon!
If you're ready to start your own collection, start saving interesting bottles now so you're ready for Halloween next year.
Add Some Spooky Details
DIY Spell Book
The Snow White poison apple seemed the perfect spell to display above our apothecary stand this year. I snagged these free printable spells at G*Rated and created a large spell book from an old Utah Atlas. I can't wait to create a faux leather cover for it like I did on these dollar store composition books for my kids. It's so much fun!
Oh and the vulture of course! I snagged him at Michael's last year at 50% off. Love him so much!
Apothecary Sign
But my favorite apothecary addition has got to be this sign I made during a crafternoon with Fourth East Craft Co. Brandee at Fourth East Craft Co. cuts and preps all your supplies and all you need to do is sand and paint. It's SO satisfying.
I loved hosting our Fall crafternoon. If you're in the Salt Lake Area and want to host one of your own message Brandee on Instagram @fourtheastcraft. More on that later….
Embellish Halloween Poison Apples
These apples are cool enough to set on the table as-is, but making it fun never hurt anyone! Using skeleton finger candy apple sticks we embellished a few pieces with black candy melts to make our poison apples even spookier.
Then arranged them on a black candelabra. I added half-toothpicks with gumdrops to the anchor the bottom, keeping them stable in the candle holder.
Pick Your Poison……But Choose Carefully
We invited everyone to “pick their poison” with their favorite Halloween poison apple! My little one wasn't sure about eating these apples!
Caramel Apple Cider
We then created our own caramel apple hot cider. This quick and easy “recipe” approximates Starbuck's Caramel Apple Cider and is so yummy. But pretty sweet!
Caramel Apple Cider Recipe
- Fill mug with Hot Cider from beverage server
- (1-2) pumps Brown Sugar Cinnamon Torani Syrup
- Top with Whipped cream
- Drizzle with caramel ice cream topping
Slice and Serve
Once your guests are enjoying their hot cider, slice apples like you normally would. And don't worry, the printed image is totally edible!
Melt some caramels with a little milk and serve a side for dipping. These skeleton head shooters work perfectly for dipping. {and for desserts like this one!}
Enjoy Your Halloween Poison Apples
My little skeletons loved this fun party treat and I love that it is healthier than so many Halloween alternatives. You can't go wrong when making fruit the center of attention! Especially when they're as dapper as these poison apples from Fun to Eat Fruit!
What are you serving on your Halloween party table this year? I'd love to hear? Would your family enjoy some poison apples of your own? Give Beth a call and she'll hook you up!
