- Twizzler rainbow straws {2 packages makes 3 rainbows}
- Large Marshmallows
- Sandwich sized ziploc bag
- “I like to look for rainbows” printable favor topper
- Rotary paper trimmer
Step 1: Make the Rainbow
These bad boys are SO easy you hardly need steps but I would like to mention a few things. They will stick together pretty well if you stack them as soon as you have peeled them apart. There are 10 pieces of licorice in each package. SIX make a complete rainbow, so peel off the extras and set aside. Two packages will make three full rainbows with 2 left over pieces which, if you make enough of them, create a rainbow eventually!
Curve the licorice tight as it wants to straighten back out.
Step 2: Trim Ends
This is optional but I didn't like how the bottom pieces stuck out further than the rest. Use a sharp knife and trim the last few pieces for a nice clean rainbow.
Step 3: Add Marshmallows & Print Toppers
The marshmallow clouds are a fun touch. For St. Patrick's Day you could also throw in some gold coins or wrapped Rolos for the treasure.
Now is the time to download and print your toppers {below}. Easy to follow cut lines ensure you get the right size just make sure you DO NOT FIT TO PRINT. If you do, it'll end up shrinking the images. I love my rotary cutter and recommend it any chance I get. Saves me so much time and I get straight cuts every time.
Step 4: Bag 'em
We used simple ziploc bags for this favor but you could use any bag of the right size. Due to the large number of favors we created this ended up being a cost effective way to go.
Step 5: Rainbow Tag 'em
The toppers share a line from my favorite children's song and fit so well with the theme. The clean modern look of this rainbow matches the Rainbow plates that were the inspiration for this whole Rainbow Party! I normally don't like to staple toppers but again, we had A LOT of these to make, so I went ahead with the stapler for simplicity sake. If you want a cleaner look, use double sided tape to secure.
Taste the Rainbow
These Licorice Rainbow Party Favors are something your guests will enjoy. A fun surprise that will brighten anyone's day, especially surrounded by a rainbow of blossoms! I hope you find your treasure at the end of the rainbow.
