It's September 13th and you know what that means!! I'm kicking off the annual “13 Days of Halloween ideas” with Jordan at Jordan's Easy Entertaining. Black Cat Halloween Decor
It all started with the plates. How cute is this grinning black cat? I love it! You can snag these vintage cat plates at Zurchers, right now.

Pick a Color Scheme
There are lots of ways you can go with black cat Halloween decor. Classic orange and black is of course the obvious choice but this year I decided on a purple and black tablescape. Mostly black and white with some purple accents in plates, napkins, straws, and sprinkles!
Use neutral placemats you've already got on hand. These Buffalo Check Placemats {similar} were a steal from Walmart last year. Keep your eye out if you're in the market for an upgrade.
Pro Tip: Pair a decorative dessert plate over the top of a plain colored plate and use a printed napkin for your themed decor to keep costs down for a beautiful place setting.
Simple Witchy Centerpiece
For a super simple and affordable YET high impact centerpiece, try hanging witch hats from the ceiling or light fixture over the center of the table.
Then dress up the space underneath those floating witch hats by using a buffalo check and burlap garland to create a simple runner. Lay a witch broom across the center and your witch is all ready for flight.
Black Cat Halloween Drinks
To spook up your beverages use an out of the box container. These bumpy IKEA glass vases have always seemed Halloweeny to me and when wrapped with some twine and ribbon they make a lovely addition to the table.
When the glass is so fun – it doesn't really matter what you put in it! We used sparkling purple grape juice for dinner.
Dressing up a simple paper straw is as easy as adding a sticker! Just make sure you leave enough room for lips at the top of each straw! You may remember me using these same cat stickers & straws for the non-alcoholic Black Cherry Sparkler drinks at our Baby is Brewing baby shower last year.
Halloween Tablescape Details
Finish off each placesetting with a little white gourd and a potion cupcake in a ceramic cauldron. The cauldrons are VERY hard to find. I picked them up at Michael's last year but they didn't last long. There don't seem to be any silicone or ceramic baking cauldrons available online these days except for this one at Crate and Barrell.
I have a theory…..I think the Wizarding World may have cornered the market on cauldron bakeware for the Harry Potter Cauldron Cakes, that are now baked and served in silicone cauldrons. Luckily we can still make our own stand alone cauldron cakes if ceramic cauldrons aren't available.
Pro Tip: If you do come across affordable ceramic or silicone cauldrons BUY THEM as they are very hard to find.
