Baking Party Ideas for Tweens – Simple Party Table Decoration Ideas
Need Baking Party Ideas for an aspiring baker? My daughter loves being in the kitchen and baking especially…..I'm beginning to wonder if she really is MY child! 😂 Being in the kitchen has never been my favorite thing.
And baking? Nope. I don't have the patience for it. I'm too creative for that precise science.
So when my girl fell in love with baking I knew it was a talent I needed to support. And what better way to encourage a budding baker than to turn it into a party!?
Today we're talking about simple baking party decoration ideas like table scapes, favors, and other baking party decor.

Baking Party Ideas – Table Decor
A Baking Party theme is such an easy one to work with because there are so many ways to make it cute! Choose your color scheme first, then build everything around that.
These plates and napkins are the perfect place to start, then add your details.
Get the Look:
- Pink table cover
- Wrapping paper table runner
- Floral centerpiece
- Large Bakery Favor Boxes
- Favor tags
- Pink striped popcorn holders
- Large Baking Party Stickers for Popcorn Holders
- Printed placemats {blown up graphic from here}
- Square aqua plates
- “Mix it Up” dessert plates
- “Just roll with it” napkins
- Light Pink cutlery
- Mini milk jug cups
- Pink Patterned straws
- Pink apron and chef's hat banner {choose the pink one}
The floral centerpiece is so easy. It just takes some light pink flowers like tulips and gerbera daisies, and white roses arranged in a simple vase. Then add a few wooden or bamboo kitchen utensils and top with a chef's hat {a deconstructed piece of Chef Hat & Apron banner}.
I love shopping Trader Joe's for my party flowers, so keep an eye out.
And you can probably just shop your own utensil drawer for a few wooden utensils to add. If not, you can snag a few at Dollar Tree.
Place settings don't have to be complicated. You just layer it up with coordinating colors = Placemat + Square base plate + round dessert plate. And it looks awesome. Add the napkin, milk jug cup, and Light Pink cutlery for a complete setting.
Then you have the option of including a favor box which rounds out the look just perfectly. More on the favors below….
Baking Party Ideas – Personalized Chef's Hat and Apron
Chef's hat were a must for this Baking Birthday party. And I wanted them to be personalized.
Although I had trouble getting my heat press vinyl to stick on the polyester hats so chose to print on this transfer paper and it ironed on beautifully.
These are kids sized hats and were tight on a couple of the guests. I just snipped the seam in the back to give the hat band a little more flex and it seemed to work fine.

Aprons are another must have for a Baking Party. Not just because they are part of a baker's uniform but because you really will want to protect clothing from the batter and frosting that'll be flung around during the Baking and Decorating portion of the party!
Get the Look:
- White aprons for ages 7-13
- Baking Party Apron Graphic
- Iron On Printable Transfer Paper for White or Light fabric
More Baking Party Decor Ideas
If you've got a focal point in your dining room it's nice to help tie it together with the Baking Party theme as well. This mini bakery cart was the perfect thing to store extra cutlery, napkins, and some treats before guests arrived.
Large favor boxes that didn't fit on the table can also be used as decorations.
And the Happy Birthday banner was a nice touch.

- Mini Bakery Cart {or a Similar Sweet Shop Stand}
- Large Bakery Favor Box
- Mini Oven Favor Boxes
- Happy Birthday Baking Banner
A Chance to Do GOOD
After making the cupcakes I encouraged each guest to pack one special cupcake into the Mini Oven Favor Boxes {shown above} and choose someone to give it to. Invite the kids to think about someone who could use a pick-me-up and make a plan to visit them in the next day or so to deliver the cupcake.
Baking Party Favor Ideas
This Large Bakery Favor Box is perfect for getting aprons and hats and treats home safely. If there are extra cupcakes, this is a great little box to carry them in as well.
I just wouldn't recommend mixing the cupcakes and the aprons!
At each place setting you can have a popcorn holder with yummy popcorn. Choose kettle corn for a sweeter treat without all the gooey mess.
Then load up a paper food tray with crinkle paper and go to town with fun stuff. We chose to use a Pink sprinkle Mix in a cello bag with the “sprinkle some happiness” sticker. And a few Pinks and Whites cookies from Trader Joe's in another little cello bag with a sticker.
You could use a glass jar for the sprinkles to make it extra fancy but the girls enjoyed the bags just as much.
Add a couple fun things like a slap bracelet and baking utensil to round out the selection.
Get the Look:
- Pink patterned Paper Food Tray {Similar}
- Light Pink Crinkle paper
- Pink sprinkle Mix
- Silicone aqua kitchen utensil {Dollar Tree}
- Sprinkle Slap Bracelets
- Pinks & Whites Cookies {Trader Joes}
- 4×6 Clear Cello Bag, self sealing
- “Sprinkle Some Happiness” Graphic – for stickers
- “Life is What you Bake it” Graphic – for stickers
- Pink striped popcorn holders
- Large Baking Party Stickers for Popcorn Holders
- Large Bakery Favor Boxes
